There are many things in life that are not our choice, nor are they in our control. It’s easy when you feel out of control to try to grasp onto something that brings familiarity. What if you grasp onto a false sense of control? What if you’re holding on tight to a sense of safety that’s suffocating you?
We have a choice. We always do in everything. We can’t control life, but we can control how we choose to react to it. We can choose our attitude. It’s unrealistic to think you’re supposed to be positive all the time. Having a good attitude means seeing the growth in the struggle and bigger picture. Every choice you make has a consequence -good or bad -big or small. You make small choices every day from whether you wake up to social media, or use an alarm clock instead.
Recovery, healing and growth are all byproducts of my many small, yet significant choices over a long period of time. I didn’t get from A-Z by one single choice, though I tried on many occasions only to fail. Do the work. Don’t skip steps in your journey to become your personal best. I’ll continue growing every day no matter what life throws at me because that’s the attitude I’ve adopted. I hope I can help you realize you have your own power and choices.
I can influence others, but I’m not responsible for others. This rings true for you too. Release that pressure. You’re responsible for yourself, the rest is not in your control, so let it go. Take ownership and responsibility of your unique and beautiful path. You have the ability to make this choice -always. ~Britt💜
