ONLY IN HINDSIGHT
These pictures really shake me up with a mixture of anxiety, sadness, denial and genuine happiness. I thought my aunt and uncle were stopping by to visit me because my uncle’s touring schedule passed through LA. My aunt gave me her most beloved necklaces with tears in her eyes and told me to wear them and never take them off. It was nice to see them, but honestly I was more focused on how I’d hide part of my next meal.
Only in hindsight do I understand. Only in hindsight do I see the truth. Only in hindsight do I now know this was their last goodbye. Hindsight is a powerful tool, but most of us have the privilege to see right now if we are willing to bring reality into perspective. To hug them now gives me goose bumps. We don’t always get a second chance. Just consider your priorities for a moment and watch your life slowly reveal its beauty. ~Britt
