Sometimes you have to go sit in a quiet place with yourself for a while and really think about life, yourself and what you’re doing. Recovery is not something to be put on a pedestal that only certain people can achieve. It’s something that everyone can have, but it takes a lot of uncomfortable dirty work to get there and it is not a quick process.
Remember you are stripping yourself from the coping skills you learned to keep you safe and exposing the real wounds. It’s okay. It’s painful, but you’ll get through it. It’s not a pleasant climb, but once you get there… once you get there you will be so speechless with joy and a newfound freedom it will take your breath away. So, don’t take the easy way out. Commit to saving your life and giving it a quality you’ve never known. ~Britt
