- I live in California
- I am a psychology student at Cal Poly
- I play tennis and used to be nationally ranked
- I ride horses and also used to be nationally ranked
- My uncle is Jon Anderson of the famous rock band YES
- I have a ridiculously high pain tolerance
- Thunderstorms are my favorite
- I hiked to the top of Half Dome in Yosemite when I was in 4th grade
- I’ve learned there is no quick fix to achieving a healthy weight other than dealing with the underlying core problem, which never has anything to do with food or weight
- Animals have and will always be a huge part of my life
- I am extremely competitive even if it’s just a game of cards
- I am overly accepting and nonjudgmental almost to a fault, but I am also one of the fiercest people you will ever encounter if I need to be and have no problem standing up for a minority
- I’ve owned golden retrievers my whole life and used to have pet rats
- I have a huge amount of wonderful acquaintances, but very few close friends
- When I post on my social media sites I usually write what I myself need at that moment. So, if I inspire you with what I write, know that it’s just as much for myself
- Safety In Numbers took me 4 years to fully complete and I currently have enough material to write a sequel
- If I had to pick a role model it would definitely be my younger sister, Kasey.
- Safety In Numbers was never meant to be a book, but after putting together all my journal entries over the years as a therapeutic process the concept and idea almost fell into my lap
- I smile and laugh… a lot
- I can’t whistle
- The hardest word in the vocabulary for me to say is, “no.”
- I’d rather be comfortable than dress up
- It’s hard for me to accept compliments and gifts. I’d much rather give.
- Nothing makes me scream louder than spiders
- I think my favorite movies are Lord of the Rings, Meet the Parents and Twister
- I am overly organized and a neat person
- I hate cooking (sorry guys)
- I try not to have regrets, but tennis is a tough one. I was offered a full time scholarship to one of the top U.S. academies and turned it down… my eating disorder shortly followed. I think I’ll always love/hate tennis.
- I love routine and structure, but like to change my routine periodically
- I got to play mixed doubles with the Bryan Brothers in 2003!
- It often takes me a while to make a change, but once I set my mind to something I will often surpass others at a much faster rate.
- Nothing makes me happier than helping others
- I love singing in my car, but I’m terrible at it!
- I am incredibly stubborn which is a blessing and a curse
- I can get dressed, do my hair and makeup and be ready to go in 15 minutes
- Stuffed animals are still my favorite present
- I’m actually very good at PlayStation and similar type video games
- I’m actually a very funny person
- I tend to overanalyze, overthink and over-plan everything
- The East Coast holds a special place in my heart
- My great uncle is Pulitzer Prize winning author, William Styron. Let’s hope I inherited some of his genes!
