RECOVERING GYM ADDICT

I used to abuse the gym horribly. My life revolved around it. The gym came first. Before friends, before family, before school, before my horse, before sleep and before my boyfriend. It ruined too many years of my life. I wish so badly I could have made another choice but I was addicted. All I can say is I’m so sorry. After so many years torturing my body and mind on machines I went over two years without setting foot even near a gym. In fact, I hardly exercised at all and that was okay! The gym is not punishment, calories burned, weight loss, or a necessary thing in order to eat. The gym is fun, good for your heart, your bones, a place to try new exercises while making a fool of yourself and a part of a balanced life.
