SET YOUR STORY FREE
You hold a story within you. Some people choose to share it with a close friend. Perhaps a family member. A good therapist is wonderful. Some share their stories with groups of people. Many will bravely bare their soul and life on public platforms. Others might write a book for the world to read. It doesn’t matter how you share you story. What does matter is that you honestly speak your truth to yourself.
Don’t let your voice fall silent. We’ve all been through experiences that have shaped us into who we are today, and we will continue growing. “Never think that what you have to offer is insignificant. There will always be someone out there that needs what you have to give.”
The greatest lesson I’ve learned is that we all share common ground. None of us could ever be alone even if we tried. However, many of us hold ourselves captive in isolation due to fear of being different, fear of our truth, and fear of ourselves.
I want you to be uncomfortable. I want you to become the best version of yourself and that often means change, which can be tough at first. Get out that key to your cage and trust that you can walk through that door. I want you to stumble and get your feet wet until you find your peers, your passions, and yourself. No one has life figured out. That’s the beauty of the journey. Just make sure you always get back up and move forward.
It’s okay to be scared, but it’s not okay to give up. I am overwhelmed and moved to tears on a daily basis by the tremendous strength, courage and inspiration you all fill me with from your messages. Don’t you dare tell me you weren’t meant for great things. Don’t you dare tell me anything but, “I can do this. I can overcome anything.” Your lives empower me. Now fuel yourself with your own empowerment and see where you go.
I very likely could have ended my story holding that stuffed animal. I chose to keep writing. ~Britt?
