THE ART OF NORMALCY
I overate. But I resisted the urge to use any methods to purge.
I restricted. But I forced myself to make up the calories.
I spent too long exercising. But I refueled myself properly.
I didn’t eat “clean.” But I challenged myself to understand this is normal.
I binged. But I pushed the guilt aside and moved on.
I hated what the mirror showed. But I told myself I was beautiful anyways.
Because everyone overeats sometimes.
Because everyone has times where they eat too little.
Because everyone gets carried away working out at times.
Because everyone indulges on sweets and desserts.
Because everyone has times where they just eat and eat and eat.
Because everyone has days where they are unhappy with their body.
So take a step back. Open your eyes. Give yourself a break. This is about living your life to its fullest. This is about your personal journey, process and progress. You are acceptable as you are unconditionally. What one person might consider to be “bad” is what another person might consider “normal.” The only thing that matters is that you move forward. You slowly, but surely take the necessary steps towards your best health and happiness. End of story. ~Britt
