TRY, TRY AGAIN
“Maybe you have relapsed over and over. Maybe you weren’t strong enough then. Maybe you are now. What was once impossible might very well be possible today. Do the impossible.” -Jenni Schaefer
I relapsed so many times it would be impossible to count. I not only had some of the top eating disorder specialists and doctors tell me I was hopeless, but I also told myself so. And I’m here to tell you all now that it’s just a load of nonsense. I don’t care if you’ve relapsed once. I don’t care if you’ve relapsed 100 + times. I don’t care if you’ve never relapsed. When you are ready you are ready. You can’t always predict when you will move forward because it tends to happen almost magically. Something will finally click. You find the right support, the right environment, the right mindset, the right whatever. I never believed I’d be healthy or happy again. In fact, I had completely forgotten what those words and feelings meant or felt like. I thought I’d always be stuck, sick and completely consumed in my isolated world where it was just my eating disorder and me. That was the future I genuinely saw for myself.
So, if you take anything away from what I’m saying take this: We are changing on a daily basis whether we realize it or not. So try, try again and know that if you never give up, the odds of finding your strength and getting better are more than in your favor. You can do what you once could not. You can do what you think to be impossible. Because everything is possible if you believe. ~Britt
