WHEREVER YOU GO, THERE YOU ARE

It’s taken me a long time to make peace with where I live. Everywhere I go used to be a haunting reminder of a nightmare darker than one could seemingly imagine – yet it was my reality – my past – how could I escape it?

I desperately used to believe just a change of location would save me – but I didn’t realize I was only transplanting my traumatized self somewhere else – naturally my problems followed.

Is it easy living here? No. Has it made me stronger? Stronger than anything. Don’t runaway from yourself. Reframe your mind. Put on new lenses. This may have been a war zone – but look at the beauty that now stands tall. ~Britt
