ZIGZAG ON FORWARD

Recovery is often full of mini rock bottoms. It doesn’t’ make you a failure and it isn’t your fault. You aren’t doing recovery “wrong.” Part of being human means to have ups and downs, to use things that aren’t always the best for us as a means to cope, and to have moments where we feel insecure. This is your (and my) reminder that this is normal and it’s what makes for the strongest of people. Get back up. Try again. Love yourself regardless. Remember the big picture. Remember your progress. Remember that your bad day probably will be completely forgotten about a year from now. Growth requires discomfort, trial and error, and rising after we fall. So, if you are feeling down or uncomfortable, congratulations! This is a wonderful opportunity to use your challenge as a springboard forward. Every step counts. How boring and robotic would it be to live a linear life… ~Britt
