UNDERNEATH IT ALL
It’s not your reflection you hate. It’s not weight loss you love. It’s not over-indulging in secrecy you enjoy. It’s not missing a workout you fear. It’s not running to the bathroom after you eat you crave. Because what you really hate is that you aren’t happy and feel the need to take it out on yourself. What you really love is seeing change as if you have an ounce of control in an unpredictable world. What you really enjoy is the high of letting go and then the ability to punish yourself for “giving in.” What you really fear is the noise that creeps into your mind without a means to numb it away into silence. And what you really crave is to feel safe, that you belong and the ability to look yourself in the mirror and realize that you are beautiful and acceptable no matter what image reflects back at you. ~Britt
